What is Judo?
Judo is a grappling-based martial art and an Olympic sport derived from traditional Japanese Jujitsu. Sustainable Judo training improves strength and fitness, develops useful, realistic physical skills, mental focus, awareness, and perseverance.
Melbourne University Judo Club (MUJC)
MUJC is one of the newest sport clubs at the University of Melbourne, founded in 2023. Having gone through massive growth in 2024, MUJC started on-campus training in 2025.
MUJC is a university club and a community of friends, gathering around the practice and enjoyment of Judo, rather than a martial art school. Read more about MUJC.
MUJC is affiliated with Judo Victoria and Judo Australia, the official governing bodies of the sport of Judo in Victoria and Australia respectively.
